Be Fearless in Your Pursuit

Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. #MondayMotivation

Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.

When you got up today, were you excited about the path you have chosen?  In short, were you excited to go to work?

We spend our life being asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?”  It seems a simple enough question.  Teacher.  Doctor.  Artist.  But then life happens with all its expectations and demands.  Things doesn’t always turn out that way we plan on the first try.  Or second.  Sometimes even the 3rd…

Throughout grade school I wanted to be a teacher.  Come high school I wanted to own my own business thanks to my business class teacher.  After a few failed business courses in college and a change in majors, I was going to be a speech pathologist.  Fast forward a year and half to discover the major I choose wouldn’t let me study speech pathology but I could be a librarian.  Oh goodie…

Think Happy Thoughts

Do you see how many times my “passion” has changed?  And it’s still changing, everyday.  I don’t think I’ve quite got it nailed down yet.

But I think happy thoughts.  I keep looking for what drives me, what sets my soul on fire.

I’m evaluating situations I’m in and taking notice of what & who will make me grow.  People and places that are holding me back need to go.

Change Is Scary

But so is the thought of being stuck in an unhappy place/situation.  Don’t let yourself settle.  Embrace change; nurture it, let it fuel your soul with fire.

Have Faith, Make The Change

As I wrote this post this past weekend, I went back and forth between thinking about what fuels my soul fire and updating a resume.

While my wildest dreams have me working from home (or any location of my choosing) and doing something creative, I think I have found a place to set up shop until then.  I’m having faith, I’m making a change.

It’ll be a home base, a nurturing, encouraging environment that will help me enhance my talents.  They will push me to grow.  Perhaps my wildest dreams will come true at my newest home base.

Ask Yourself

What sets your soul on fire?  What makes you excited to get out of bed every day?  And if you don’t have that fire, when are you going to do something about it?

  1. Sarah, reading your post has inspired me to keep dreaming. I love the freedom that I have now with a flexible schedule and I never want to take it for granted. I want to wake up every morning with a zeal for life and what the new day will bring. I believe that’s the kind of life that God wants for us too!
I’m excited for you and your new home base. I hope that it creates new possibilities and gives you the freedom to pursue your dreams!

    1. Thank you Marva! Unfortunately, my home base plans did not pan out… I have to make a new plan. But it will be OK. I will be happy, I will pursue my dreams.
