Her Success Is Not Your Failure

Her success is not your failure #MondayMotivation

Her success is not your failure.

Ladies, I want you to think of a woman in your life you consider your equal or one you look up to.  Ok.  Something amazing happens to her…

  • A promotion at work.
  • She’s able to remodel her home or buy a new one.
  • She can finally fit in a smaller pair of jeans.

Are you happy for her?  Genuinely?  I’m sure you are.  You’re a good person with a big heart.

Now how do you feel about it?  Are you motivated by her successes?  Or are you silently tearing yourself down because you weren’t able to achieve the same?  Or worse, bad mouthing that woman who has had a great thing happen to her.

[Tweet “Seeing you succeed inspires me to challenge myself! #MondayMotivation”]

While we should always, always be ourselves and strive to be better than the person we were the day before, there’s nothing wrong with being motivated by the things others do and have.  A little healthy competition…

Don’t let the successes of others make you feel you have failed.  Your paths are different and achievements will be too.  Instead, let them motivate you.  Let her success drive you closer to your goals.

Plus, her success gives you a reason to celebrate!  Congratulate her then pick her brain on how she can help you reach your goal.  Then celebrate that!

Low on motivation?  I have plenty of it right here every Monday =)

  1. This is a great quote, so true. A little healthy competition is great, but never allow it to tear you down or think you cannot have something. Thanks for sharing! Swinging by from Candid Cuddles.

    1. Right?! Compete then celebrate your own victories together. Twice the success, twice the celebrations =)

  2. Great quote- I had to think about this one for a bit. It can be hard not to compare yourself to others who are doing really well. I like your philosophy of congratulating and then picking brains for ideas. ?

    1. Thank you Annette! I, too, need to think about this one. I envy successful people… then have to remind myself that I’m not doing anything that warrants that level of success ;)

  3. Nice article and well written Sarah.

We shouldn’t want for what others have. This is my number one rule in life about being successful.
Wealth and Success surround us in America , being a constant reminder to us that this will make us happy. Are real wealth is our friends and family that surround our lives.
With Success in my opinion I find is achieved through ones personal feelings about who they are and where they are going.

  4. This is a great quote hun & wise words. It’s true, often times the first thought is jealousy when someone achieves something wonderful. I like your advice to use that to motivate yourself & I agree with healthy competition. But being happy for the person & celebrating her success is key! Thanks for sharing your lovely quote with candid cuddles x
