Easter Memories #52Lists2015
Hello there =)
Happy Easter!
As I was linking up at all my favorite parties this week, the Easter crafts and traditions were abundant. I was inspired! But darn it, it’s too late to whip up bunny & egg crafts. Late to that party…
Helloooo Sarah… Make a list about Easter… What a PERFECT List 14!
My Easter Memories
Now, I don’t have many… But there were a few that were treasured traditions.
- Coloring Eggs – I used to color Easter eggs every year with my Uncle Mike. I don’t think we ever repeated a coloring technique. Glitter, marbled, plain ole Paas colors. And of course, a butt had to be drawn on at least one of them. Why? Because it’s funny ;)
- Egg Surprises – My Grandma (rest in peace) used to put a dollar in change in plastic eggs and hide them around the house for the grandkids to find. They all had a dollar but one contained a dollar bill and THAT was the one we wanted. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents as a child so I ended up stuffing and helping hide the eggs. I always let my cousins (to the best of my knowledge) find the one with the $1.
- Window Decorations – What’s better than construction paper eggs? Nothing! My mom and I used to cut and decorate paper eggs for the windows each year.
- Butter Lambs – Butter lambs are a Polish-Catholic Easter meal tradition, so Google tells me. All I know and care about is that it’s my families tradition. If you’re not familiar with it, a butter lamb is… butter… shaped like a lamb. =)
As I click through more Easter posts over the next few days, I’ll be keeping my eye open for the next great tradition to start with my own family.
