There were a couple days the only thing I drank was coffee… But back on the horse the next day!

Well With Water - Apple Cinnamon Water | Sarah Celebrates

February 2014 I started drinking more water solely to keep myself from eating when I started Weight Watchers. It was a challenge then too.  It’s so boring and not fun to drink.  I tried using those zero calorie water flavorings but they gave be heart burn.

I turned to the best place to get ideas for anything, Pinterest, and found a TON of infused, flavored water recipes.  The one that stuck out was Apple Cinnamon Water.  I imagined it’d be like apple pie but water.  I could get behind that.

If you search for this flavored water you’ll see the word “detox” slapped all over the recipe and claims it can boost your metabolism.  I am not a dietitian, fitness expert or healthcare provider and I will not use that claim.

In my research, I have found that both cinnamon and apples can stabilize and regulate blood sugar.  Very good for controlling cravings =)  I have very big sweet tooth after meals.  Drinking this regularly did seem to curb those cravings.

Let’s make some Apple Cinnamon Water!

Ingredients & Supplies

  • Glass Pitcher – plastic will hold the cinnamon flavor/scent
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Apple – any kind you like, sweet or tart
  • Water
  • Ice – optional

Directions

  • Thinly slice an apple.
  • Add half the apple slices, cinnamon stick and ice to pitcher.
  • Fill pitcher with water.
  • Top with the rest of apples
  • Allow to set overnight for optimal flavor.

You can refill your pitcher 3-4 times before replacing the apples and can keep the cocktail (it’s more fun when you call it that) for 2-3 days refrigerated.  Add more cinnamon sticks to taste.  One stick overnight did not give enough flavor for me, but 8 hours later it was perfect!

Let me know if you try this recipe and how you like it!

    1. It is tasty, but the cinnamon does get strong if you leave it in too long. I hope to try some other flavors soon.
