Welcome to Two Uses Tuesday 44! We didn’t quite make it to 200 links last week, but there was LOTS of creative goodness to spare! As always, thank you so much for coming back week after week.
Announcement!!
How much do you love partying with us? So much right? Stella & I couldn’t agree with you more! So…
We’re starting a PIN party! Come join us Friday for Pinbellish: A Pinning Celebration! It’ll be a place to show off your latest & greatest pins. Link up your post today, stop back Friday and link up it’s corresponding pin =)
Were you wondering why we we spending so much Tip Time on Pinterest? ;)
Tip of The Week (Answers Revealed)
Our last image term from our Two Uses Tuesday 40 question is revealed, Alt Text.
- image name
- image title
- image caption
- image description
- alt text
This week we cover the final field to fill out for your blog images, the alternative text or Alt Text field.
Alt Text is the most important field to fill out. If you’re short on time and need to choose which which field to fill out and which to ignore, this is the one to take the time to enter information into.
Alt text is often described as being useful for SEO as crawlers use this information for key words.
However Alt text is also important for your blog readers. It’s the alternative text if the image is not available. When might images not be available?
- your viewer has images turned off
- if they are using text to speech for the visually impaired
- for e-readers that do not support images.
Fill out the Alt text field in such a way that it provides a clear description of the image and it’s relevance to your post. Often it is this field that you will see as the wording in Pinterest so a good way to decide what to write in this field is to fill it out as if it were what you want to appear under your Pin.
